Our Greatest Threat is
Our Unseen Enemy
In accordance with WHO recommendations, mass testing has become, and for the foreseeable future will continue to be, a key pillar in sustainable disease control and prevention. However, given COVID-19’s infectious nature, the mechanics of which much remains unknown, targeting “asymptomatic” spreaders of COVID-19 should be every government’s focal point.
The Problem with
Low "Viral Loads"
It is difficult to detect asymptomatic carriers with low “viral loads”, which in turn has led to many “false negatives” worldwide. As demonstrated by our graph, “false negatives” are due to technological “limit of detection” of the testing kit. This is why HKLife has developed its proprietary RT-PCR, which is very sensitive and virtually eradicates therefore the phenomena of “false negatives” altogether.
HKLife COVID19 Detection Kits For
Sample Pooling
Hong Kong has a positivity rate of <1% so sample pooling in pools of at least 10 is an efficient way to proceed for population screening. Pooling samples involves mixing several samples together in a "batch" or “pooled” sample, then testing the pooled sample with a diagnostic test. An important criterion is that the testing method has sufficient sensitivity to support sample pooling. The highly sensitive HKLife proprietary RT-PCR can be used with sample pooling so that the number of individuals that can be tested using the same amount of resources is greatly increased.
BioRadar® System
The BioRadar® System is a disruptive technology solely developed by HKLife. Radar is used to detect the unseen enemies in a battlefield, and as its name suggests, our BioRadar® System targets pathogens, mutations, toxins and more to serve as the first line of defense against these unseen dangers to human health.
More Testing Kits
Apart from Clinical Diagnostic Kits, HKLife also provides Veterinary Diagnostic Kits, and Food Molecular Testing Kits. Animal health is an important issue in modern day society as exemplified by the cases of avian flu and swine flu; and food safety and quality has been and remains of great concern worldwide. Our lines of diagnostic kits were developed to address the diagnostic needs in both of these areas.
