HKLife and the AFCD collaborated to evaluate the molecular testing system that is able to detect avian influenza virus subtype H5, which caused outbreaks in Hong Kong in 1997, 2001 and 2002. The kit represents a major improvement over the existing serological detection methods - as it is far more accurate and has the ability to detect the most recent isolates of the virus. |
